SHAWANO, WI – Moviegoers in Shawano will have to make plans to enjoy movie nights at home for a while.
Based on Governor Tony Evers orders to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and promote social distancing, Shawano Cinema is closed until further notice.
Manager Stephanie Bendtschneider says earlier in the week, they were already starting to make some changes to keep people safe.
“As of Monday, we were only allowing 50 people in each theater and we spread out our movie start times so that we would not have more than 50 people in the lobby at once.”
She says they also made adjustments so people would not have as much contact with others when it came to concession food.
“Until I hear from the owner of our company that we can open, we are closed.”
Bendtschneider says the grounds are too wet for the outdoor theater at this time, so that is not an option.
