MADISON, WI – Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is suspending all public and private schools in the state of Wisconsin until an undetermined date.
In an order issued Tuesday, the Governor stated that all instructional and extracurricular activities will close at 5:00 pm Wednesday and shall remain closed for the duration of the public health emergency or until another order lifts the restriction.
Many area school districts decided last week to close for a week at a time with some returning the final week of March, others the first week of April and some, like Shawano, all the way through Easter Break.
The order will not allow schools to open again until the Governor gives permission for them to open.
