SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano School District has made the decision to close school starting at the end of the day Friday through mid-April.
Shawano School District holds the health, well being, and safety of students, staff, family, and community as our highest priority.
Administration consulted this morning with our health service team and based on the information and recommendations we received we have made the decision to close the District beginning at 4:00 pm Friday March 13th; this includes all activities and facilities. At this time, we plan to resume on Monday, April 13th.
Due to the CDC guidelines of self-quarantine for fourteen days after travel outside of WI, we are anticipating limited staffing capacity the week after spring break.
We will have essential staff only reporting to the building next week. We are working with the cleaning crews to deep clean Friday night.
As you can imagine we have a lot of details to work through. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process. We will provide updates via email as quickly and often as we are able.
We feel this is a necessary step to protect our staff, students and families. Please remember to take care of the physical and emotional health of you and your family.
If you want a friendly reminder of the health guidelines please refer to CDC website.
Email to families will be shared out shortly. Please do not communicate to students yet, building principals will be sharing out this information to students.
