CLINTONVILLE, WI – The City of Clintonville is looking for the communities help to beautify the downtown.
A new sponsorship program called “Flowers and Firs” is designed to rejuvenate the spirit of Clintonville.
The city is asking for sponsors. A $300 dollar to $500 dollar sponsorship allows you to sponsor a hanging basket or planter and tree.
” This year we lighted the walkway and put a few trees there, and that was very pretty, but this year we want to do even better,” Mayor Beggs said. “Next year we want to have perhaps ten trees and then some lights on the bridge too.”
Beggs says the goal is to line Main Street with hanging baskets and line the Riverwalk with trees, but it is expensive to do.
“Flowers cost about $3,500 dollars a year if you include the cost of the baskets and cost of the labor to keep them watered.”
The sponsors of the trees will have their name on a plaque in front of the tree.
City officials say those who are interested should act quickly as sponsorships are limited.
