
Dennis R. Kleman, age 80 of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center – Appleton. Dennis was born February 16, 1940 in Split Rock, Wisconsin, a son of the late Earl and Myrtle (Pagel) Kleman. He attended school in Tigerton, graduating from Tigerton High School with the class of 1958.
On April 22, 1967, Dennis was united in marriage to Kathleen Uelmen in Tigerton. The couple was married for over 52 years. Dennis was employed by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department for 43 years, retiring as Patrol Sergeant in 2005. He is a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. He enjoyed flying model RC airplanes, and belonged to the Shawano RC Club. Dennis also liked photography, and listening to Dixieland Jazz Music.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Shawano; his daughter, Denise (Brad) Dickson of Hugo, Minnesota; two grandsons, Jarred Dickson of Winona, Minnesota, and Liam Dickson of Hugo; and one brother, Kevin Kleman of Stoughton, Wisconsin.
A funeral service for Dennis R. Kleman will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Wolf Parsons will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department will provide honor guard detail at Dennis’s service.
