MADISON, WI- (Wisconsin Radio Network) – The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has tested six people in Wisconsin for possible coronavirus exposure.
“It is more than likely that we will have more cases that are identified, that meet the criteria for testing over the next few days and weeks,” said Tom Haupt, DHS Respiratory Disease Epidemiologist.
Of those tested, one was negative and five others are still pending.
Test results take 24 to 48 hours to determine if a patient is infected.
DHS said the potential patients are across the state, and include persons who recently traveled to Wuhan, China, which is the epicenter of the virus.
A mother and her two young children from Wisconsin are stuck in China by the coronavirus outbreak.
Daisy Roth and the children, five-years-old and 10-months-old, were in Wuhan, China when the city was shutdown.
Back home in Neenah, Samuel Roth says it isn’t known how long the lockdown will last.
The three didn’t make it onto a U-S Department of State flight which was evacuating Americans Tuesday.
None of them have shown any signs of sickness.
