SHAWANO, WI – Northeast Wisconsin is big when it comes to outdoor recreation.
State Representative Gary Tauchen says that translates into tourism dollars.
“Outdoor recreation does drive $7.8 billion dollars in consumer spending in the State of Wisconsin,” Tauchen said.
“Last year there was over $650 for every taxpayer in the state that was paid for by tourism so it is a real positive.”
Tauchen says a newly formed state department focuses on outdoor recreation in Wisconsin.
