NEW LONDON, WI – An unmanned kettle is an empty kettle, that’s the message from the Salvation Army as they continue to look for bell ringers.
“We ring in Clintonville, Manawa, Weyauwega-Fremont, Waupaca, and New London,” said June Sawall, Red Kettle Coordinator. “The need is for ringers for a two hour shift, and it does not cost them anything, it is free.”
Sawall says people may not realize that the money raised stays local.
“This is the only money that we get to help people in Waupaca County is from what we get in the kettles.”
She says with Christmas coming up, more shifts need to be filled.
“New London has a need.”
In New London ringers are needed for Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart and Tractor Supply. The money raised will go helping those in need throughout the year.
