SEYMOUR, WI – Black Friday and holiday shopping can be a time of year where items get stolen from unsecured vehicles. Officer Brett Stauber of the Seymour Police Department says people are out shopping, they should be sure to protect their purchases by keeping them out of plain sight and lock their doors.
He says there is an important step that should also be taken once at home.
“Even if you are tired, just take the time to bring all of your bags inside.”
Putting your bags in a locked trunk or using dark-colored bags will help keep your purchases out of plain sight.
Seymour Police have been investigating numerous car break-ins this week.
Investigators say in all of the cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.
