In Stevens Point, the People’s Meat Market has re-opened after an animal cruelty complaint. The slaughterhouse and meat market was shut down by a U-S-D-A inspector for about a week in late October. The federal Food Safety and Inspection Service was on hand when questions were raised about the way a pig was slaughtered. The owner made the changes required, but he also suggests the federal inspector had an agenda in his assessment of what really happened.
