Shawano County

Highway: WIS 22

Location: Between County B and Zingler Street & Main Street and County BE

Schedule: Project will start again in Spring 2020 to complete project. This is the last update for 2019.

Traffic impacts: All lanes are currently open to traffic. Single-lane closures will occur in Spring 2020 to complete remaining work between County BE and Airport Road.

Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will remove temporary traffic control devices for winter.

Waupaca and Wood Counties

Highway: WIS 110

Location: Between Wolf River Drive and WIS 96 in Fremont

Schedule: July 8, 2019 to November 22, 2019. Some work will be completed in Spring 2020. This is the last update for 2019.

Traffic impacts: WIS 110, Wolf River Bridge: Motorists can expect to encounter one lane crossing the bridge with temporary signals thru November 22.

Anticipated work schedule for next week: Contractor will finish installing guardrail, concrete work and install pavement markings to open the bridge. Some work will be completed in Spring 2020.

OCONTO COUNTY

Peshtigo Brook Wetland Mitigation Site

Location/limits: Along WIS 64 in the towns of Brazeau and Bagley.

Schedule: July 22, 2019 to December 2019

Length: 151 acres of phase 1; 284 acres of phase 3

Cost: $1.4 Million

Description of work: Peshtigo Brook Phase 1 was originally constructed in 2005 and requires modifications by directing more surface water into the site, utilizing shallow excavation in limited areas, and reseeding. The project is also constructing Peshtigo Brook Phase 3, which will restore historic wetlands through shallow excavation, grading, elimination of internal farm ditches, installation of fixed weirs, and seeding. A new culvert will be installed across WIS 64 to facilitate surface water drainage.

November 11 to November 15: Work suspended for winter.

Pensaukee River Bridge Replacement

Project limits: WIS 32 bridge over the Pensaukee River in Krakow

Length of project: On bridge

Cost: $916,000

Construction schedule: August 19, 2019 to November 2019

Description of work: This project will replace the existing structure on WIS 32 over the Pensaukee River with a new bridge and retaining wall. The project will also replace a wing wall on a box culvert and conduct concrete surface repair on another box culvert. Other construction elements under this contract includes excavating, grading, asphalt paving, beam guard, and signage.

November 11 to November 15: The contractor continued working on the box culvert wing replacement.

November 18 to November 22: The contractor will backfill and landscape around the box culvert wing replacement. The contractor will finish working on the box culvert concrete surface repair.

Traffic impacts: Shoulder closures on WIS 32 near Gohr Road and Van Dornick Road.
