The state’s so-called Step Therapy Law, Wisconsin Act-12 goes into effect in two weeks. The legislation was passed to help patients here get prescription medications which are important to them. The new law establishes updated requirements that health insurance companies must follow when pushing a patient to use a less-expensive treatment option than the one prescribed by the doctor. Governor Tony Evers signed it into law last July and it goes into effect November 1st.
