The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports the discovery of chemicals known as PFAS (PEE fahs) in the Peshtigo River. That substance is found in products like firefighting foam. The D-N-R says it detected the PFAS at four sites where it took water samples from the river in northeastern Wisconsin. Johnson Controls has admitted using foam containing the substance at its Tyco fire products facility. The second of six public meetings was held earlier this week at Marinette.
