On Friday September 27, 2019, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office conducted an organized Criminal Interdiction
Operation to locate drugs and other criminal violations within Oconto County. The focus area was the southern end of
Oconto County in the Towns of Little Suamico, Chase, Morgan, Abrams, and Pensaukee. This operation was done with
the assistance of the Northeast Tri-County Drug Enforcement Group (NETCDEG). As a result of this operation there were
153 traffic stops, 149 warnings issues, 34 citations issued, and 52 K9 deployments with 39 positive K9 alerts and 13
negative K9 indications. Ten custody arrests occurred and other charging referrals were made for the following offenses:
- Criminal and Civil Traffic Violations
- Possession with Intent to Deliver THC
- Possession of THC
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Arrest Warrants
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the following agencies in partnership with the Northeast Tri-County
Drug Enforcement Group; Oconto Police Department, Oconto Falls Police Department, Gillett Police Department, Lena
Police Department, Marinette Police Department, Pulaski Police Department, Crandon Police Department, Marinette
County Sheriff’s Office, and the Forest County Sheriff’s Office. Assistance was also provided by the following state
agencies; Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice /
Division of Criminal Investigation, and our federal partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration – Green Bay
Resident Office. We would like to thank these agencies for their time and efforts with this operation.
