The top Republican in the Wisconsin Senate says he’s ready to try and make it in the U-S House. Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald announced today (Tuesday) that he’s running for the Fifth District seat of retiring Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner. Fitzgerald says he’s driven a lot conservative policies over the last 25 years and “would love the opportunity to be able to go out to Washington and hopefully make that same kind of impact.” Fitzgerald becomes the first candidate to officially launch a run for Sensenbrenner’s seat. Some Democrats have accused him of being too partisan as leader in the Senate.
