Michael B. Mauritz, age 63, of Shawano (formerly Tigerton) passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at his home.
Michael Brian Mauritz was born on November 14, 1955 at Tigerton Hospital to Raymond and Laura (Low) Mauritz Sr. He grew up and attended school in Tigerton. Michael settled in Shawano about 6 years ago at Parkside Apartments. Once living in Shawano, he started working at Lakeland Industries. Even though Michael was born with a slight mental disability he always enjoyed life to the fullest. He liked putting jig saw puzzles together, watching old TV shows, completing crossword puzzles, and taking care of his cat Angel. Michael could be headstrong at times but was very independent, stayed active, and often had a smile on his face.
Survivors include two siblings, his brother Jack (Julie) Mauritz and his sister Janice (Thomas) Knaup; and two sisters-in-law, Frieda Mauritz and Connie Mauritz, all of Tigerton. There are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, the eldest, Raymond Jr. and his twin, Mitchell Mauritz.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Rev. Sharon Fox-Bogen will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting the family.
