The School District of Manawa (SDM) Board of Education has set its focus on examining student mental health issues. There will be a public meeting on Monday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Manawa City Hall Community Meeting Room. All members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend. The purpose of the public meeting is to: ● Learn more about the types of mental health issues that impact the SDM students. ● Understand how mental health issues impact student learning. ● Learn about the strategies and supports currently being used to assist SDM students with mental health issues. ● Discuss community resources that would support student mental health needs. The meeting will begin with a brief overview of the SDM mental health issues presented by school personnel. Area experts (ex. from local clergy, NAMI, Waupaca County Crisis & Prevention, etc.) will then join the panel to have a dialogue with the audience. The public is invited to pose questions to the panel members.
