Jim was born May 10, 1949 in Green Bay, a son of the late Milton and Louise (Matz) Reetz. He attended St. James Lutheran Grade School, and graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1967. Following high school, Jim served in the United States Army. Upon returning from service, Jim was the co-owner of King James with Jim Otto. He later owned and operated the Fox Ballroom in Cecil. Over the years Jim also worked at Anello’s Torch Lite and Club 22. He was currently employed at Crossroads Driver’s Education as an instructor.
Jim was a good and faithful lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano where he served on the Board of Lay Ministry and the Stephens Ministry. He was also in charge of the radio broadcast of the 9:00 AM Sunday church services. Jim was a very detail oriented man. Survivors include many cousins, friends, and godchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Steve Schauder will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the Shawano American Legion Post 117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 and continue until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the St. James Lutheran School in Shawano.
