The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 64-year-old man killed when his home exploded Sunday morning. Investigators think Mark Steven Zielke was asleep when he died in the blast. Sheriff Tim Wilz says Zielke’s home was “totally obliterated” and witnesses report the debris was spread at least 500 feet away. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man that died Sunday after drowning in a pond. Officials are identifying him as 37-year-old Daniel Lewis. Officials say around 3:57 p.m., they were notified of a man who was drowning in a pond behind a residence in the town of Fremont. Police say prior to their arrival, the man had been removed from the water and CPR had been started. Life-saving measures were continued until the man was transported by Fremont Ambulance to ThedaCare – Neenah, where he was pronounced dead.
