BROWN COUNTY
US 41 Resurfacing (carryover work from 2018)
Location/limits: US 41 from Lineville Road to Norfield Road within the village of Suamico
Length of project: 4.75 miles
Schedule: March 2018 to August 30, 2019 (2019 finishing work began July 17)
Cost: $13.02 million
Description of work: A section of cable guard will be installed in 2019. Polymer overlays will also take place in 2019 on the bridge decks for US 41/US 141 over Riverside Drive, County B, and the CN Railroad. 2018 work that is complete includes US 41/US 141 resurfacing, pavement repairs, asphalt pavement, shoulder grading, bridge deck rehabilitation at US 41/US 141 over Riverside Drive, US 41/US 141 over County B, US 41/US 141 over CN Railroad, Harbor Lights Road over US 41/US 141, and Norfield Road over US 41/US 141. The project also includes culvert repairs/replacements, median cable guard installation, beam guard replacement and new signing and pavement markings.
August 5 to August 9: The contractor continues to reinstall cable barrier along US 41/US 141.
August 12 to August 16: The contractor continues to reinstall cable barrier along US 41/US 141 and apply pavement markings. The contractor will also begin cable guard maintenance along US 41/US 141.
Traffic impacts: Motorists will encounter off-peak lane closures along southbound and northbound US 41/US 141.

WIS 32 (Ashland Avenue)/Parkview Road Intersection Reconstruction
Location/limits: Parkview Road Intersection with WIS 32
Length of project: 0.3 miles
Cost: $970,000
Construction schedule: June 10, 2019 to September 27, 2019
Description of work: Reconstruct intersection. Re-route west side of Parkview Road 400 feet south of existing location. Change existing west side of Parkview Road into cul-du-sac. Construct slotted left-turn lanes.
August 5 to August 9: The contractor is continuing work in the stage 2 area (Parkview Road new alignment). Work includes storm sewer placement, gravel placement, and curb placement.
August 12 to August 16: The contractor will continue work in the stage 2 area (Parkview Road new alignment). Work will include curb placement, driveway concrete placement, topsoil placement, asphalt placement, seeding, pavement marking, and signing.
Traffic Impacts: Ashland Avenue will remain open to traffic, with lane closures at times. Parkview Road will be open to traffic.

WIS 172/Fox River Bridge Painting
Location/limits: WIS 172 Bridge over Fox River in the villages of Ashwaubenon and Allouez
Schedule: August 6, 2018 to November 2019
Length of project: 0.75 miles
Cost: $7.833 million
Description of work: Blasting and painting of steel girders under the bridge. Temporary causeway installed in Fox River to allow equipment access to barges.
August 5 to August 10: The contractor is moving the containment and barges from spans 6, 7 and 8 to spans 9, 10 and 11. Then they will start blast cleaning the steel girders in spans 9, 10 and 11.
August 11 to August 16: The contractor will continue to blast clean the steel girders in spans 9, 10 and 11; and then start to paint the primer coat.
Traffic impacts: Off-peak lane closures on WIS 172 and WIS 57 (Riverside Drive). Continuous shoulder closures on WIS 172 to delineate containment system brackets on the bridge parapets. Flagging operations and various night closures of the Fox River Recreational Trail and Ashwaubenon Recreational Trail directly under the bridge. Boat traffic should be mindful of construction barge traffic and containment systems hanging below the bridge girders.
Langlade County
Highway: WIS 64
Location: 5th Avenue Road to County P
Schedule: July 8, 2019 to August 23, 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 64 will remain open to through traffic at all times. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during daylight hours with flagging operations.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews plan to replace beam guard on the west side of Elton. Crews will also complete shouldering and permanent pavement marking.
Marathon County
Highway: County WW (Local Project)
Location: Wisconsin River Bridge, Brokaw (Village of Maine)
Schedule: April 22, 2019 to May 22, 2020
Traffic impacts: Traffic is currently maintained on a single lane, 10.5 feet in width, on the existing bridge with temporary traffic signals. Half of the bridge deck will be removed and constructed.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will construct wood decking forms for the bottom of the bridge deck.
Highway: WIS 153
Location: Andrys Lane to County J North
Schedule: July 8, 2019 to August 1, 2019
Traffic impacts: WIS 153 will be open to through traffic at all times for the duration of this project. The project will be constructed under traffic with the use of flagging operations.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will install centerline rumble strips, shoulders and, install new signs and place final pavement marking.
OCONTO COUNTY
WIS 32 Mountain Resurfacing
Location/limits: WIS 32 from County AA to Parkway Drive in the town of Mountain
Length of project: 4.43 miles
Cost: $4.5 million. All WIS 32 projects under one contract: North Branch Oconto River Bridge Deck overlay, Mountain resurfacing, Mountain to Lakewood resurfacing.
Construction schedule: May 28, 2019 to September 2019
Description of work: This project includes milling and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt pavement, applying pavement marking, and installing centerline and shoulder rumble strips.
August 5 to August 9: The contractor began placing shoulder aggregate and applying permanent pavement markings.
August 12 to August 16: Crews will place shoulder aggregate and apply permanent pavement markings.
Traffic impacts: WIS 32 will be open to traffic during construction. Work will be conducted using lane closures and flagging operations.
WIS 32 Mountain to Lakewood Resurfacing
Project limits: WIS 32 from County W in the town of Mountain to Big Hill Road in the town of Lakewood
Length of project: 9.46 miles
Cost: $4.5 million. All WIS 32 projects under one contract: North Branch Oconto River Bridge Deck overlay, Mountain resurfacing, Mountain to Lakewood resurfacing.

US 41/US 141 Safety Improvements (carryover work from 2018)
Location/limits: US 41/US 141, Oconto/Brown south county line to city of Oconto
Schedule: July 30, 2018 to August 30, 2019 (2019 finishing work begins July 22)
Length of project: 11.47 miles
Cost: $2.35 million
Description of work: A section of cable guard will be installed in 2019 and maintenance will be performed on previously installed cable barrier. The 2018 US 41/US 141 safety improvement project included adding cable guard along 11.4 miles of highway from the city of Oconto to the Brown/Oconto county line. The project also replaced asphalt shoulders in the US 41/US 141 interchange and added shoulder rumble strips within the interchange.
August 5 to August 9: The contractor will continue to perform maintenance tasks on the cable guard along US 41/US 141.
August 12 to August 16: The contractor will continue to perform maintenance tasks on the cable guard along US 41/US 141.
Traffic impacts: Motorists will encounter lane closures along southbound and northbound US 41/US 141.
Peshtigo Brook Wetland Mitigation Site
Location/limits: Along WIS 64 in the towns of Brazeau and Bagley.
Schedule: July 22, 2019 to September 2019
Length: 151 acres of phase 1; 284 acres of phase 3
Cost: $1.4 Million
Description of work: Peshtigo Brook Phase 1 was originally constructed in 2005 and requires modifications by directing more surface water into the site, utilizing shallow excavation in limited areas, and reseeding. The project is also constructing Peshtigo Brook Phase 3, which will restore historic wetlands through shallow excavation, grading, elimination of internal farm ditches, installation of fixed weirs, and seeding. A new culvert will be installed across WIS 64 to facilitate surface water drainage.
August 5 to August 9: The contractor continued excavation and grading of the site. Seeding was completed in finished areas. Crews continued removal of tree tubes from trees planted in previous phases.
August 12 to August 16: The contractor will continue excavation and grading of the site. Restoration and seeding will continue.
Traffic impacts: Much of the work will be completed in agricultural areas with minimal impact to traffic.
Oneida County
Highway: US 8 and WIS 47 intersection
Location: City of Rhinelander
Schedule: June 10, 2019 to October 18, 2019
Traffic impacts: Project currently has WIS 47 northbound and southbound traffic detoured around the intersection. Detour follows Boyce Drive and Kemp Street. Motorists will also encounter flagging operations, shoulder closures, and single lane closures. Map of detour can be found here: https://go.usa.gov/xyxEK
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Contractors will: finish base course application in the roundabout circle, continue pouring concrete truck aprons and sidewalk, construct sign bridge bases, begin pulling wire for street lighting and continue mainline paving.

Oneida & Vilas Counties
Highway: US 51
Location: 3rd Avenue to Tuckaway Drive
Schedule: Spring 2018 to November 2019
Traffic impacts: US 51 is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction from Wallace Road to WIS 70. Traffic on US 51 is restricted to a 12-foot maximum width. Motorists should expect to encounter occasional flagging operations. Motorists are encouraged to consider using WIS 47 as an alternate route to avoid delays at peak tourist travel times.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will complete pouring sidewalks, pave parking lots, driveways and the surface lift of asphalt. Crews will also spread topsoil, seed and cover with erosion mats.

Portage County
Highway: US 10 (NEW)
Location: From I-39 to County E, west of I-39
Description: Crews will place polymer overlays on six bridge decks; three on eastbound and three on westbound US 10.
Schedule: Project scheduled to begin on Monday, August 19, 2019 to mid-September 2019.
Traffic impacts: Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures in both directions on US 10. A regulatory speed limit reduction will be implemented with the project. The speed limit will be reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: None. Project scheduled to begin on August 19.
Highway: Business 51
Location: Mac Arthur Way – Minnesota Avenue
Schedule: March 18, 2019 to Spring 2020
Traffic impacts:
- The intersection of Locust Street and County HH on the north side of County HH closed August 5, 2019 to facilitate the concrete paving operations in the intersection. This intersection is expected to reopen on August 12, 2019.
- Pedestrian traffic can resume utilizing the sidewalk on the east side of Business 51 and the south side of County HH.
- Tommy’s turnpike at Business 51 remains closed.
- Traffic on County HH has been reduced to one lane in each direction between Lower Whiting Park and School Avenue. All traffic on County HH has been moved to the new eastbound lanes. Traffic on Business 51 has been reduced to one lane in each direction between Mac Arthur Way and Minnesota Avenue. All traffic on Business 51 has been shifted to the newly constructed northbound lanes.

Anticipated work scheduled for next week. Crews will:
- Work on completing the new turn lanes on the north half of County HH between Lower Whiting Park and Locust Street.
- Work on finishing the new water main installation between Elm Street and Willow Street.
- Continue working on raising the bridge girders over McDill Pond.

Highway: WIS 66
Location: At the bridge over the Plover River, between Country Club Drive and Ridge Road.
Schedule: July 15, 2019 to late September
Traffic impacts: Traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes with unidirectional traffic. The traffic lanes will be reduced to a maximum width of 11 feet and the speed limit will be reduced form 40 mph to 30 mph thru the construction zone.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week: Crews will finish forming for the new bridge deck, install bar steel, remove pavement and pour concrete.
Shawano County
Highway: WIS 22
Location: Between County B and Zingler Street & Main Street and County BE
Schedule: July 15, 2019 to November 1, 2019
Traffic impacts:
- Single lane closures and 10-foot lane widths on WIS 22 between County HHH/Airport Road and County BE will continue through September.
- Single lane closures on WIS 22 between Main Street and County HHH will continue.
- WIS 22 (Green Bay Street) will remain closed at the railroad crossing between Hamlin Street and Ellis Street. A signed detour will be in place utilizing Main Street to WIS 29 to Airport Road. No access across the railroad will be allowed as it will be under construction. Access to businesses and residents within the closure limits will be maintained. Work along WIS 22 (Green Bay Street) outside the road closure limits will continue with lane closures, access to businesses and residents will be maintained.
Anticipated work scheduled for next week, crews will:
- Continue work on the new box culvert at Murray Creek
