The Adams County Sheriff Department focused their investigation for a missing Bonduel man to the lake he was last seen camping by. 66 year old Richard Diablio checked into East Twin Lake camp ground July 10. He was last seen wearing a dark green shirt and motorcycle leathers. He checked into the campground riding a 1990 BMW, which was found at his camp site with his wallet and identification all intact. The sheriff said his tent hadn’t been set up, and his helmet and chaps were also found by his motorcycle. Sheriff Nick Brennan says dog teams kept leading searchers to the lake, and showed signs of urgency while on the lake.
Monday, a deputy and State Patrol Officer conducted a seven hour search of Twin Lake by boat, using sonar and sophisticated imaging, but did not find a body.
The Sheriff says search and rescue teams from 2 counties, a dive team from Sawyer County, along with numerous volunteers have assisted in the search. Searchers are using 2 boats with sonar and imaging, and drone flights twice a day since the disappearance to find Diablio. The Sheriff says the search has been hampered by the fact the Diablio was someone who kept to himself, and doesn’t have any family to answer questions about his habits or health concerns.
The Sheriff says that an extensive search with other departments and volunteers will be going arm to arm in the woods surrounding East Twin Lake starting early tomorrow morning.
