On Friday, July 5, 2019 about 9:05 p.m., Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received calls regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash on County Highway E at the Spencer Lake Camp in the Town of Lind in Waupaca County. A female pedestrian (age 14 of Neillsville, WI) was crossing from the west side of County Highway E to the east side of County Highway E. The camp is on both sides of County
Highway E at the crash location. A northbound pickup truck, driven by a 19 year old female from Berlin, WI collided with the crossing pedestrian. Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Waupaca Area First Responders, Gold Cross Ambulance, Waupaca Fire Department, and Theda Star Medical Helicopter responded to the scene. The pedestrian was transported by helicopter to Theda Care Medical Center of Neenah. Her condition is not known at the time of the news release. The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash. Wisconsin State Patrol is completing a traffic crash reconstruction of the incident and is assisting with the investigation. No further information is being released at this time while the investigation is still ongoing.
