Shawano-Menominee County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director, Emily Schildgen announced that there will be an open house on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Shawano- Menominee County FSA office located at 603A Lakeland Road in Shawano. FSA county office staff will provide information on FSA’s County Committee Election process. County Committees are unique to FSA and allow producers to have a voice on federal farm program implementation at the local level. Elected county committee members are responsible for making decisions on FSA disaster, conservation, commodity and price support programs, as well as other important federal farm program issues. The open house is an opportunity for producers and landowners to visit the FSA office to learn how they can make a difference by participating in the annual election process. The nomination period for this year’s election is June 15 through August 1. Nomination forms must be postmarked or received in the Shawano-Menominee County FSA Office by close of business on Aug. 1, 2019.
