The trial continues today for a man who allegedly attacked a Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputy following his 3rd OWI arrest. 45 year old Chad Kohel was convicted of traffic related charges prior to a trial on Tuesday, but will now face charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide and battery to a law enforcement officer. According to police, after a blood draw for OWI at Theda Care in Shawano, Koehl tried to strangle Deputy Sandra Finger. Kohel had originally blown three times the legal limit. Finger said she was attacked as she was buckling her seat belt. She blacked out at one point, but woke up in time to hit her radios emergency button that allowed other deputies to come to her rescue.
