Wisconsin’s law enforcement community is the mourning the loss of two off-duty police officers killed in separate incidents. Milwaukee Officer Kou Her died after being struck by a speeding driver who ran a red light at around 1:30 A-M (Tuesday). Her had just ended his shift. Police say a suspect on probation for drunken driving is in custody. In Racine, a manhunt is underway for a suspect who shot and killed Officer John Hetland. Investigators say Hetland attempted to stop an armed robbery at Teezers bar at 9:40 Monday night. Officers are reviewing surveillance video. Attorney General Josh Kaul said in a statement, “the loss of two police officers—two people who worked to keep communities safe—is a tragedy. My condolences to their family and friends and to the Racine and Milwaukee Police Departments.”
