A Marion couple will be making payments of $1,500.00 for 15 years as part of a deal after pleading no contest to keeping $375,000 in auction proceeds. Leroy and Mary Beechy also have to pay $100,000 in restitution by June 27th. The case revolves around an auction held in 2015 when Beechy Dairy Cattle Auctions LLC helped Nerfarms LLC sell equipment and livestock. After hauling in over $655,000 in sales, Beechy gave Nerfarms a check worth $577,000, but it bounced. The Beechys pleaded no contest to felony charges of theft in a business setting and misdemeanor charges of issuing a worthless check and theft by false representation. A judge suspended the felony case for up to 15 years and scheduled sentencing on misdemeanor counts for June 27.
