A hearing before an administrative law judge starts this morning (Monday) at 9:00 A-M in Lansing, Michigan. The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin is joining the Coalition to SAVE the Menominee River in the suit challenging permits granted to a mining project. Aquila Resources wants to build a gold, zinc and copper mine just north of Menominee, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. Wetlands permits and inland lakes and streams permits are being challenged by the suit. The company says it wants to start construction by next year.
