SEEDLINGS PROGRAM OFFERS FREE SPOTS FOR FIRST-TIME VENDORS
The Shawano Farmers Market will open for the summer 2019 season on Saturday, June 15. New this year, the “Seedlings” program gives potential vendors the chance to set-up and sell their products at the Shawano Farmers Market for one Saturday free of charge. We hope they will enjoy the atmosphere as much as our veteran vendors and decide to become a vendor. For more information or to register as a vendor, visit www.shawanofarmersmarket.org The market will again be held this year at Franklin Park (200 block of S. Washington Street between Division and Presbyterian Streets) in Shawano. The open-air market will be open Saturdays, 8 a.m. until noon, until Oct. 5. Vendors will be spread out throughout the park. Products sold include fruits, vegetables, flowers, landscaping plants, maple syrup, bread, fish, meats, and select high-quality crafts. Local musicians perform and Master Gardeners are also available to answer gardening questions. Family friendly activities are also available during select market days. New additions to Franklin Park include a performance area, ADA walkways and a water feature with seating. The park improvements also feature additional parking and electrical infrastructure to support community events. The mission of the Shawano Farmers Market is to nurture our community’s health, social and economic growth by providing a vibrant marketplace fo local food producers. The market is a place to enjoy socializing, shopping and relaxing. It is the place to be on a Saturday morning in Shawano!
