Last night, by a narrow 3-2 vote, the Shawano City Council voted to have the city sign on to a potential agreement with the Shawano School District regarding building a new rec center together. The agreement doesn’t bind the city to the project. City officials say there are many questions that need to be answered before gathering input from the community. If enough support is shown after a district wide survey is sent out, the proposed facility would than go to a school district referendum next April.
