Beginning May 1, Chromebooks will be available to checkout from the main location of Shawano County Library. A Chromebook is a cloud-based tablet which runs on the Chrome operating system. The device primarily utilizes the Google browser and offers capabilities for internet browsing, word processing, spreadsheets and more. Chromebooks can be checked out by adult cardholders in good standing for two weeks. Chromebooks will need a wireless connection to function, which is also available at all six county libraries. For patrons needing printing capabilities, wireless printing is available at the main library. This new service is now offered due to donations the Shawano County Library has received recently.
