Marathon County plans to make some changes in its staffing level for the sheriff’s department. The county board says the changes will be a more effective use of the available resources. Eight part-time positions in the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department will be replaced by two full-time positions. The county has spent a lot of time and energy filling its part-time positions and there was a lot of turnover because those employees would leave when finding full-time work elsewhere.
