
Steven J. Kienast Sr., age 60, of Clintonville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Steven James Kienast was born on August 31, 1958 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Calvin and Virginia (Cass) Kienast. He grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha North High School. Steve entered the U.S. Army and served from 1975 to 1981 stationed mostly in Germany. He was married twice and was blessed with three children. Steve was employed for many years as a mail sorter at the U.S. Post Office in Waukesha, retiring in the mid 1990’s. In the late 1990’s he settled in Clintonville.
Steve is a former member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He was an active Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans – Chapter #53 of Manawa. Steve was currently serving as Commander and he was involved in every project and activity with the DAV. His other interests included deer hunting, going fishing, collecting antiques, and searching for treasures at rummage sales. Steve was always helping others and will be remembered most as a kind and generous person.
Survivors include three children; Jessica Kienast of Clintonville, Kyle (friend Ashley) Kienast of Bonduel, and Steven (Navid) Kienast Jr. of Shiocton. There are six grandchildren; Calvin, Nataly, Alison, Sofia, Rosemary, and Helen. He is further survived by his mother, Virginia Kienast of Waukesha, a twin brother, Scott Kienast of Dousman; and two nieces, many other relatives and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his father Calvin and a brother Mark.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 24th at 11:00 AM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Brian Crocker will officiate and burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Military Honors will be provided at the cemetery by members of the DAV – Chapter #53 of Manawa; VFW Post 664, American Legion Post 63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 63, all of Clintonville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
