
Dolores M. Fietz, age 91, of Tigerton passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at Homme Home of Wittenberg.
The former Dolores Mae Seefeldt was born on April 22, 1927 in the Town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, to Fred and Mary (Popelka) Seefeldt. She grew up in the Tigerton area and attended the Blue Ribbon School in Split Rock. Dolores was united in marriage on August 11, 1945 to Richard W. Fietz at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock. For over 30 years the couple dairy farmed in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, and then they went into raising beef cattle. Dolores and Richard liked snowmobiling, spending time outdoors, and going to art shows all around the state. They spent countless hours creating beautiful art projects and selling them at different places. Her husband of 65 years preceded her in death on February 17, 2011.
Dolores was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active with the ALCW Ladies Aid and the Luther League; holding offices with both groups. She is a former Sunday school superintendent and teacher; directed lots of Christmas programs; and started the first pre-school / kindergarten class. Dolores was also a proud member of the Blue Ribbon Homemakers Club. She also enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing. Dolores will be remembered most as an artist; whether it involved painting or embroidery items. Her paintings hang in people’s homes all around the country. She was always very creative and painted wooden spoons, saws, and other items. She decorated cakes for all sorts of local wedding and events. Dolores was even honored to be able to teach cake decorating at Fox Valley Technical College.
Survivors include two children, Glenn (Dorrae) Fietz of Tigerton and Josie (Rodney) Fietz-Johnson of Waupaca. There are three grandchildren; Tonia (Mike) Brandt, Wyatt and Paul Kersten. There are three great grandchildren; Corrina & Amelia Brandt, and Ali Ray Fietz. Dolores is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, a grandson Richard N. Fietz, a baby brother Wilbert, a sister Erma (Eugene) Brown, and a brother Wallace (Leona) Seefeldt.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock. Rev. Craig Nehring will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Delores’ memory to Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock.
Our family wishes to thank all of her friends who stayed in touch with Mom for so many years. We also especially want to thank Pastor Craig for always visiting, praying with her, and tending to Mom’s spiritual needs.
