Federal prosecutors say a 26-year-old Hobart man used “dark web” marketplaces to sell drugs and launder dirty money. They say Christopher D. Bania sold Ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine, L-S-D, meth, heroin, marijuana and several other controlled substances. The “dark web” is a location on the Internet which can’t be reached through traditional search engines. U-S Attorney Matthew D. Krueger says the case shows the internet is not free from law enforcement activities. If convicted on all the charges, Bania could get an 80-year prison sentence.
