Republican lawmakers have filed a motion with the 3rd District Court of Appeals in an effort to let 15 people appointed to government positions return to work. When a Dane County judge ruled the lame-duck session held in December was illegal, Governor Tony Evers had rescinded 82 appointments. A ruling last Wednesday led Evers to re-hire all but 15. The Republicans have asked the court to force him to comply with its ruling and re-instate those 15 appointees.
