Two felony counts of first-degree intentional homicide were filed against a 35-year-old Appleton man Monday. Karl M. Hess is accused of shooting 51-year-old Richard Miller to death last September, then killing his 19-year-old daughter, Jocelyn. Investigators say Hess admitted committing the killings so he could steal a safe. A search by police found that the safe, a wallet and a cell phone were missing. Surveillance video helped lead investigators to Hess.
