Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources hope somebody comes forward with information about the shooting of a bald eagle in Marathon County. Bald eagles are federally protected. A witness found the dead bird in a roadside ditch in the Township of Harrison last weekend. An examination conducted by the Raptor Education Group in Antigo turned up lead fragments consistent with a gunshot wound. Tips can be called or texted to 1-800-847-9367.
