Pete and Joe are free…. Thursday afternoon about 4:30 the mannequins broke free of their frozen confines of the Wolf River in New London. Every year the dummies strand themselves on the ice near the Pearl Street Bridge, waiting for the river to open. Dangerous ice jams and flows are expected over the next several days and the entire river remains under emergency slow-no-wake rules due to minor flood stage water levels.
