Bernice was born on July 22, 1919 in the Town of Richmond, a daughter of the late Otto and Hattie (Teetzen) Kleberg. On May 8, 1943, she married Victor Beversdorf, also from Shawano. He passed away in 1969.
Bernice worked at Shawano Medical Center until her retirement in 1986. She was an active volunteer in various organizations, including St. James Lutheran Ladies Aid, Lake Drive Cemetery Association, the Golden Agers, sewing blankets for World Relief, and the Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Bernice is survived by her three children, Roy (Connie) Beversdorf of San Antonio, TX, Curtis (Dianne) Beversdorf of Plover, WI, and Linda (Joseph) Loveland of Littleton, CO; four grandchildren, Sara (Brad) Nosbush of Fairfax, MN, Aaron (Masha) Beversdorf of Greensboro, NC, Brian Beversdorf of Round Rock, TX, and Jennifer (Michael) Coben of San Antonio, TX; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Katelyn and Matthew Coben of San Antonio, TX, and Annika and Nico Nosbush of Fairfax, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her sister, Mildred Riegert of Fond du Lac.
A funeral service for Bernice will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service and Cremation of Shawano. Pastor Steve Schauder will officiate. Interment will take place at Lake Drive Cemetery, Town of Wescott, in the spring. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to St. James Lutheran Church (324 S. Andrews St. Shawano, WI 54166) in Bernice’s name.
