Shopko has given formal notice of layoffs at its Green Bay Store Support Center location on Pilgram Way. According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Shopko says a total of 140 employees will be affected beginning April 8. This follows Shopko’s announcement last month that it had filed for bankruptcy and was closing stores across the country, including Wisconsin. Shopko says in a WARN notice that about 1,000 jobs will be eliminated through store closings. This now marks Stores and pharmacies that will be closing in some ShopKo stores, plus Payless shoes located inside the ShopKo stores. The only thing not affected is the Optical Department in some stores.
