A former Suring teacher was convicted Tuesday of sexual assault of a student by a school staff member. Timothy Grimes, 24, pleaded guilty to two of the counts, while four counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for March 22. Prosecutors said Grimes was a friend of the victim’s family and would spend time at the 15-year-old girl’s house. On multiple occasions, he had sexual contact with her, according to the complaint. Grimes resigned from his position as a history teacher, according to the school district.
