Canadian recycling firm Matalco has announced plans to build an eighty million dollar aluminum recycling facility in Wisconsin Rapids. Mayor Zach Vruwink calls it a “once in a lifetime” get for the city. Rapids won the plant over locations in Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, and some other sites in Wisconsin. The plant will eventually employ some 80 people. Construction will begin as soon as weather allows and is expected to last 18 months.
