A Clintonville man demanded a $2,500 ransom for a teenage girl he was holding in a motel room, according to a criminal complaint On Jan. 8, local, state and federal officers were called to help with the search for a missing teen. The victim’s mother said she received a text message saying her daughter would die unless she paid $2,500. The text read: “This is to let you know that Angel was kidnapped by myself and my men and we demand a ransom payment of 2,500 before we release her back to you alive.” According to the Criminal complaint the abduction created an Amber Alert which was issued and then quickly cancelled after she was found in the Clintonville Motel. Elijah Kerrigan faces nine felonies, including kidnapping, first-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement, child sexploitation, false imprisonment, and drug distribution to a minor. Kerrigan is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. Kerrigan is expected back in court Friday, January 25th.
