When the pet supplier Doctors Foster and Smith shuts down its Rhinelander operations next month, 289 people will be out of a job. Parent company Petco made the announcement Wednesday. It says the move will let it streamline operations and do a better job of focusing on its core business and its customers. Petco bought the northern Wisconsin business in 2015. The co-owned Live Aquaria business will stay open, saving nearly 60 jobs.
