Jessie Lynn James, age 45 of Keshena, started her spiritual journey home on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Sauk Prairie Hospital in Sauk City, Wisconsin.
Jessie was born March 25, 1973 in Shawano to Gordon and Leone (Wilber) James. She attended Menominee Indian High School. Jessie was proud of being a CNA, and worked many years helping patients at nursing homes and in their homes. She enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, camping, cutting fire wood, picking Ginseng with her soul mate, Joe Peters, and riding on the back wood roads. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards(especially cribbage), and was an avid pool shooter. Above all, Jessie loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her soul mate, Joe Peters, of Keshena; her children, Lauren (Tim) Peters of Shawano, and Joseph Peters Jr. of Keshena; her grandchildren, Joseph Peters III and Evelyn Bourdon; her parents, Gordon and Leone James; her siblings, Denise (Steve) Crowe of Appleton, Tracy Peters of NC, Randy (Rose) Peters, Albert Peters, Kandi Peters, Richard James, Gordon James Jr., Marlin James, and Karen (Jeremy) James, all of Keshena; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman Peters and Karen Peters, both of Shawano, George Peters of Keshena, Doreen Peters of Appleton, Patti Peters of Shawano, and John (Jessica) Peters of Suring; her goddaughter, Karen James; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Gwendolyn and Amber Peters; father and mother-in-law, Orvis James and Patricia Peters; sister-in-law, Skinny Peters; and brother-in-law, Mike Peters.
A Funeral Mass for Jessie will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena. Fr. Joel Jores will be the Celebrant. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the James Residence, N975 Old South Branch Road, Keshena, and will continue until the procession leaves for church on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. A Parish Wake service will be held on Friday night, January 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the James Residence.
