The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is trying to save money by cutting six majors from its curriculum. The university is dealing with a projected deficit of four-and-a-half-million dollars over the next two years. Its problem is falling enrollment figures — down by more than two-thousand students over the past five years. The Board of Regents would have to approve the plan to drop French, German, geoscience, geography, history and two art concentrations.
