A Portage County teen agrees to a plea deal in a drug-fueled shooting and stabbing incident in April. Nineteen-year-old Alec Varney is pleading no contest to two felony counts of first-degree reckless injury and second-degree recklessly endangering safety, along with a misdemeanor count of battery. Other charges including false imprisonment and use of a dangerous weapon have been dismissed. A judge then found Varney guilty of three counts, and set a January 4th sentencing date. Varney is accused of shooting two of his friends following a night of drinking and drug use and then cutting his mother with a knife and wrestling his father to the ground.
