Update: According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the 46-year-old man that was killed was identified as Patrick Courchaine of Oconto.
An accident that occurred on Friday about about 1:20 p.m. took the life of one in Oconto County. According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department, the accident took place on State Highway 22, just west of Elm Grove School Road in the Township of Oconto.
Three vehicles had been traveling westbound on Highway 22, when the first vehicle was making a left turn into a driveway. According to the press release, the third vehicle attempted to pass the other two vehicles, and struck the first vehicle. The third vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled over.
The driver of the third vehicle was a 46-year-old Patrick Courchaine who had been ejected and transported to a Green Bay hospital, however he later died from his injuries. During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office determined that unsafe passing by Courchaine contributed to the accident.
