Glenda Stoffel, age 62 of Wittenberg, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 9, 1955 in Tigerton, to James and Gladys (Hoernke) Wesener. On August 20, 1983 she married Larry Stoffel, whom survives.
Glenda attended the University of Stevens Point, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Education. She taught for 42 years in the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District. Glenda was an active member of church, playing the organ, teaching Sunday school, and coordinating their vacation bible school. She dedicated her life to children, leading Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Booster Club and Teacher’s Union and participated in her school’s extracurricular activities. She enjoyed her summers camping and fishing with her friends and family at Post Lake. She was a great teacher, a loving mother, and a wonderful wife.
Survivors include her husband Larry, of Wittenberg; two children, Pamela (Josh) Falkowski, of Hatley and Bryan Stoffel of Neenah; her father, James (Rose)Wesener, of Gresham; four siblings, Judy (Kirk) Kangas, of Westfield, Jerome (Carmen) Wesener, of Manawa, Gordon (Gerry) Wesener, of Gresham, and Jill (Jen) Wesener-Dieck, of Trempleau; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys, and one nephew, Jayden Dieck.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Birnamwood. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gresham. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Birnamwood, and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service on Tuesday, all at the church.
