With a win in Pennsylvania, Donald J. Trump was voted President Elect just before 2:00am Central time. “Sorry for it being so late folks, this is complicated business” was the first words Trump presented to his supporters. The 2016 Presidential Election was the latest it took to declare a Presidential winner since the 2000 election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. A few states, including Wisconsin were left undetermined by the time Hillary Clinton called President-Elect Donald Trump to concede the election.
Trump won Wisconsin in a close vote, but it was the first time a Republican won the electoral votes in the Badger State since the 1984 Election.
Locally, Donald Trump won in all municipalities in Waupaca County.
Trump also won a large majority of votes in Shawano County, losing only in the Townships of Red Springs and Bartelme and in the Village of Eland.
